FORGETTING AND REMEMBERING

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:
but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

Forgetting ills behind me, the sorrows past and gone,
Forgetting all my wanderings, too sad to dwell upon,
Remembering God’s great goodness, in times of stress and strain,
Remembering His restorings, I praise my God again.

Forgetting all my doubtings, which dimmed faith’s vision bright,
Forgetting all the earth-clouds, the darkness, gloom and night,
Remembering God’s bright sunshine, and radiance of His face,
Remembering His long patience, I praise my God for grace.

Forgetting all unkindness which friends and foes have shown,
Forgetting and forgiving the wrongs that I have known,
Remembering God provided, unsought, each faithful friend,
Remembering love’s devotion, I’ll praise Him to the end.

Forgetting my repinings when disappointments came,
Forgetting all the murmurings which filled my soul with shame,
Remembering God was ever true to His Holy Word,
Remembering He was faithful, I praise my sovereign Lord.

Here we are at the beginning of another year.
It may be filled with blessings or problems.
What a  precious promise we have from our Heavenly Father
that He knows what is ahead and
He will be there with us through it all.
What could be more wonderful than to know that the
God who sent His Son to earth to die for our sins
so that we would be able to live with Him forever,
also loves us enough to be right at our side
through every trial and problem we face.

In a world of uncertainty Jesus is the only solid foundation
upon which we can build and live our life.

So as the New Year begins,
let us forget the problems and sadness of the past and with Paul
look forward to what God is going to do for us in the coming year.
We can face life without fear if we place our future in His hands
and remember that He has never failed us in the past.

Forget the past with all its problems and sadness and
remember that God has never failed us in the past
and we can trust Him with our future
because He is already there.

And thou shalt remember all the way
which the LORD thy God led thee...
Deuteronomy 8:2

Happy New Year
to all !

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Luke 2:7-20
7  And she brought forth her firstborn son,
and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn.
8  And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night.
9  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.
10  And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David
a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12  And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger.
13  And suddenly there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14  Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15  And it came to pass, as the angels
were gone away from them into heaven,
the shepherds said one to another,
Let us now go even unto Bethlehem,
and see this thing which is come to pass,
which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16  And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph,
and the babe lying in a manger.
17  And when they had seen it,
they made known abroad the saying
which was told them concerning this child.
18  And all they that heard it wondered at those things
which were told them by the shepherds.
19  But Mary kept all these things,
and pondered them in her heart.
20  And the shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God
for all the things that they had heard and seen,
as it was told unto them.

Trust

TRUST

Trust is just a little word with a big meaning.
While reading my devotional book a few days ago
I came across this article and wanted to share it with you.

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that,
if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
John 11:40

Jesus is saying, “You may not understand,
but if you believe, you will see.”

Abraham could not understand why God
asked him to sacrifice his promised son,
but he trusted God.

Jacob could not understand why
his beloved son was taken away from him,
but he trusted God.

Joseph could not understand being sold
into Egypt by his brothers
and  spending time in prison
because he was falsely accused,
but he trusted God.

And friend, you may not understand why
the things in your life are happening to you,
why good things seem to go wrong and
cherished things taken away,
but keep on trusting God.

And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

If we could push ajar the gates of life,
And stand within, and all God’s working see,
We might interpret all this doubt and strife,
And for each mystery could find a key.

But not today.  Then be content, poor heart;
God’s plans, like lilies pure and white, unfold,
We must not tear the close-shut leaves apart –
Time will reveal the calyxes of gold.

And if, through patient toil, we reach the land
Where tired feet, with sandals loosed, may rest,
When we shall know and understand,
I think that we shall say, ‘God knew best’”

Praise God from whom all blessings flow,
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

CHOICES

CHOICES

Every day we are faced with choices.

What to wear.
What to eat.
Where to go or stay home.
To pay our bills or not to pay.

Some are simple choices
Some are difficult.

Sometimes life brings us sadness and sorrow.
Sometimes we are betrayed by our friends.
Sometimes life brings sickness and pain.
Sometimes we have fear and doubt.

The important thing in life is the choices we
make in response to our life experiences.

When life brings us sadness and sickness,
we can choose to become depressed
and spread our mood to others.

Or we can choose
JOY.

When a friend betrays us, we can choose to be
angry and respond with bitterness.

Or we can choose to
FORGIVE.

When we experience sickness and pain,
we can suffer and allow it to weaken us
until we can no longer cope.

Or we can turn to the LORD for strength and help.

When we have fear and doubt,
we can allow it to master us until we are
no longer able to function normally.

Or we can recognize that these are
tools of the devil to destroy us and
TRUST GOD.

These are only a few examples of choices we can make in life.

I am resolved to choose

JOY
FORGIVENESS and
to TRUST GOD.

Hello…

I hope you remember me.
I am so far behind in my blogging.
So many things have been happening in my life,
but I want to get back on track.

I have finally started making cards again so I will
also be sharing some of them on my blog.

Today I wanted to share a poem that I think
expresses  something that I hope
will be as helpful to you as it is to me.

Speak Out
One never knows how much
A little word may mean.
How it may heal a broken heart
Or still a qualm unseen.

Someone may be discouraged
About to turn aside,
They might be trying to be brave
And all their fears to hide.

They may fear to tell just how
Their weary spirit feels,
But just one kind, little word from you
Could be the one that heals.

Their job they may have tried to do
And yet they feel so wrong
And just a thoughtful word from you
May fill their heart with song.

So friend, speak out!
It won’t cost you a thing,
But to some sorrowing, aching heart
A ray of hope may bring.

We never know what problems
those around us are facing ,
but kindness and love will make a difference.

And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32

Here is the cards I made using Word Art Wednesday's scripture last week.

I would love for you to leave a comment!
