MERRY CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord.
 And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.
 And it came to pass,
as the angels were gone away from them into heaven,
the shepherds said one to another,
Let us now go even unto Bethlehem,
and see this thing which is come to pass,
which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found
 Mary, and Joseph,
and the babe lying in a manger.
And when they had seen it,
they made known abroad the saying
which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things
which were told them by the shepherds.
But Mary kept all these things,
and pondered them in her heart.
  And the shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God for all the things
that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
Luke 2:8-20

He was in the world, and the world was made by him,
and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own,
and his own received him not.
But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name:
John 1:10-12

Wishing each of you
a wonderful Christmas
blessed by His presence.

A Good Thanksgiving

A GOOD THANKSGIVING

Said old gentleman Ray on a Thanksgiving Day:
“If you want a good time, then give something away.”
So he sent a fat turkey to shoemaker Price,
And the shoe maker said: “What a big bird! How nice!
With such a good dinner before me I ought
To give Widow Lee the small chicken I bought.”
“This fine chicken, oh, see!” said the sweet Widow Lee,
“And the kindness that sent it – how precious to me!
“I’ll give washwoman Biddy my big pumpkin pie.”
“And, oh, sure,” Biddy said, “ ’tis the queen o” all pies!
Just to look at its yellow face gladdens my eyes!
Now it’s my turn, I think, and a sweet ginger cake
For the motherless Finnigan children I’ll bake.”
Cried the Finnigan children, Rose, Denny and Hugh:
“It smells sweet of spice, and we’ll carry a slice
To little lame Jake, who has nothing that’s nice.”
“Oh, I thank you and thank you!” said little lame Jake;
“What a bootiful, bootiful, bootiful cake!
And oh, such a big slice!  I’ll save all the crumbs,
And give them to each little sparrow that comes.”
And the sparrows, they twittered, as if they would say,
Like old gentleman Ray: “On a Thanksgiving Day,
If you want a good time, then give something away.”

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
2 Corinthians 9:15

To all my faithful followers,
I am sorry that I have been absent for a while.
Sometimes life gets in the way of what we want to do,
but I am richly blessed and thankful
for all my wonderful Lord is doing for me.

Here’s wishing you and your family many

THE SECRET OF FEARLESSNESS

Of all the memorials in Westminster Abbey,
there is not one that gives a nobler thought than
that inscribed on the monument to Lord Lawrence...

simply his name, with the date of his death,
and these words:

"He feared man so little,
because he feared God so much."

It was said of D. L. Moody that
he was humble as a child before God
and as bold as a lion before men.

Great examples of how we should live our lives!

Sharing a few of my recent cards:

Sunday, August 6, 2017

Sorry that I am so irregular with my posts.
Lots of things have been happening.
I just had my kitchen redone.
I have been very busy making cards
and rearranging my craft room.
They sound like good excuses to me!
So much for that....

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

Faith looks back and says,
"Christ died for me."
Above and cries,
"He lives for me,"
Forward and whispers,
"He comes for me."

He is coming!
This message should thrill all Christians.
He is coming for all those who love Him and look for His appearing.
His coming is closer that most of us realize.
May we all be ready and watching.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

On this Independence Day
as we celebrate the freedom of the USA,
remember the greatest freedom
was bought on Calvary!

God bless you all!

Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father,
and attend to know understanding.

My God is a BIG God

With men this is impossible;
but with God all things are possible.
Matthew 19:26

My God created the world and all that is in it.

My God cleansed the world of sin in Noah’s day with a flood.

My God sent an angel to deliver Lot and his family
from the sinful cities before he destroyed them.

My God gave Gideon the victory over the Midianites with only
300 men, a pitcher, a lamp and a shout.

My God rolled back the Red Sea so His children could
walk through to the other side on DRY ground to escape their enemies.

My God gave David the victory over the Philistine giant, Goliath,
with only one stone, to save them from the enemy.

My God gave His children the victory over the city of Jericho
with marching people and a shout.

My God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die
for our sins so that we could go to heaven.

My God has performed innumerable miracles
and He still protects and delivers His children  today.

There is no end to what my God can and will do because He loves us.

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Luke 1:37

Prayer

 And all things,
whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer,
believing, ye shall receive.
Matthew 21:22

Because you prayed –
God touched our weary bodies with His power
And gave us strength for many a trying hour
In which we might have faltered, had not you,
Our intercessors faithful been, and true.

Because you prayed –
God touched our lips with coals from altar fire,
Gave Spirit-fullness, and did so inspire
That, when we spoke, sin-blinded souls did see;
Sins chains were broken;
Captives were made free.

Because you prayed –
The dwellers in the dark have found the Light;
The glad good-news has banished heathen night;
The message of the Cross, so long delayed,
Has brought them life at last –
Because you prayed.

Easter

 Jesus Is Crucified
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall,
and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head,
and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him,
and mocked him, saying,
Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him,
and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
And after that they had mocked him,
they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him,
and led him away to crucify him.
Matthew 27:27-31

Jesus Is Buried
When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea,
named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:
He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
And when Joseph had taken the body,
he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
And laid it in his own new tomb,
which he had hewn out in the rock:
and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre,
and departed.
And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary,
sitting over against the sepulchre.
Matthew 27:57-61

The Guard at the Tomb
Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation,
the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said,
while he was yet alive,
After three days I will rise again.
Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure
until the third day, lest his disciples come by night,
and steal him away, and say unto the people,
He is risen from the dead:
so the last error shall be worse than the first.
Pilate said unto them,
Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
So they went, and made the sepulchre sure,
sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
Matthew 27:62-66

In the end of the sabbath,
as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week,
came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
And, behold, there was a great earthquake:
for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
and came and rolled back the stone from the door,
and sat upon it.
His countenance was like lightning,
and his raiment white as snow:
And for fear of him the keepers did shake,
and became as dead men.
And the angel answered and said unto the women,
Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead;
and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee;
there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
Matthew 28:1-7

The grave could not hold Him.  He is alive today!
