Well, we took a few days this week to visit a friend in South Florida.  We need to visit South Florida in the winter not when the temperature is in the 90's.  Had a great time shopping, finding some new things to use for cards and eating.

When I arrived home I had a wonderful package in my mail that I won.   It was a packet of things to use making cards from Ginny Maxam at Maxam Made.  Ginny makes such beautiful cards.  I got acquainted with her on the group she started on on Facebook named Christian Card Makers.  This is a wonderful group and I have learned many things from them.  Check them out.

My thought for the week is...

“Friends” even among true Christians come and go and are usually easily offended.   But "…there is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother," Proverbs 18:24.  As long as He is there for us, we have little to worry about!  So our "friends" may disappoint us and turn against us. They may leave us when we need them the most.  They may not understand us or even care about what we need but we have a FRIEND who never leaves us.

He said, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."  Isaiah 41:10

May you feel His presence with you this coming week.

Here it is Friday again.  It seems that the weeks go by so fast.  Summer has arrived and brought us super warm (hot) days to enjoy (or hide from).

I went to a church in Georgia last evening to give a devotional to the ladies group.  I really enjoyed it and the ladies that were there.  I presented a short talk on a way we can pray the Word of God.  I have heard often that we should pray the scriptures and it recently has become clear what is meant by that.  I find it easiest to pray some of David's Psalms.  The three that were used were:

Psalm 139:23-24   Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:   And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 51:10   Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Psalm 19:14  Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

It seems to me that the order of these verses is important.  We need to ask God to search our heart and thoughts to see if there any sin in our lives.  Then based on what He finds there to create a clean heart within us and renew our spirit so that it will be acceptable to Him.  Then as we go forth to each day we need to ask Him to help us to say the words and think the thoughts that are acceptable to Him.  Wrong thoughts lead to wrong words and actions.  We need to daily ask His help in these areas so that we will not hurt others and will be the kind of person that is acceptable to Him.

Here is a picture of the refrigerator magnets I made for the ladies to help remind them of the scriptures.

My card for this week uses a design from Ignacio Molina Gomez, an artist in Spain.

Hope your week is filled with the joy of the Lord..

Well, here it is Friday again and time to share some thoughts.

We have a good friend, Dr. David Tolbert, who is an evangelist and missionary.  He is president of the Theological Seminary in the Philippines.  He often shares some little comments and I save them to share with others.  One of these is...

Praise gets a person through the door,
worship gets us in the presence of the great God,
but obedience gets one the benefits of God's grace & mercy.
David Tolbert

We can attend church, worship and praise God and feel His presence, but it is obedience that brings the real blessings and fruit in our lives.

Here is my card for this week.

Have a great week and remember,

"And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."   1Samuel 15:22

It has been a very busy week.  We have been attending revival several nights and on Monday and Thursday we attended the FFA banquets for my grandchildren.  My grandson is president of the middle school FFA and my granddaughter is chaplain of the senior high FFA.  We are very proud of them.  My daughter was made an honorary member of the FFA by the students for all the many hours of work she put in toward all their activities.  She is not a cardmaker.  She is more into crafts.  She has make the invitations, favors, thank you cards, place cards, etc. for several weddings.  She also works full time so she is busy.

I am going to share another card that I made and hope you enjoy it.

I will try to do better next week, but until then God bless you!

I am just starting this blog in order to share with others little things that are a blessing to me.  I love to make greeting cards.  I want to share little thoughts and ideas in order to be an encouragement to my fellow bloggers and those who just happen by.  I will make an effort to share something weekly.  I would love to receive Your comments. Maybe something we share will be a help to others.

I would like to share is a card I made that expresses my sentiments as I start this blog.
