The Upward Pull

Sometimes in life we just have to rely on knowing
that God is there and still cares about us.
Even when we cannot see Him in action,
He is still working.

The Upward Pull

He stood aside from his playmates,
His sightless eyes to the sky,
And the cord in his hands was tightly drawn
By the kite that flew so high.
In his big eyes, wondering, beautiful,
On his pale little slender face,
There shone such a rapture, such keen delight,
That someway it seemed out of place.
And I could not forbear to pause and ask,
”My laddie, what pleases you so,
As you hold your kite in the far-off sky,
Since its motion you cannot know?”

He turned and smiled as he softly said,
And his voice with joy was full,
“I can’t just explain, but it makes me glad,
When I feel that upward pull.”

That Upward Pull; it comes to us
‘In the weariness of strife.
When we stand bewildered, blinded and hurt,
Mid the fall of our cherished dream.
It is good to know that we cannot fail,
If we follow the heavenly gleam,
And never an hour may be so sad,
Nor ever a sky so dull
But we may, if we will, reach out and find
That God-given, Upward Pull.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2

And I will share a couple cards I made :

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

My Valentine to you.

We love him, because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19

Beloved, if God so loved us,
we ought also to love one another.
1 John 4:11

The Zigzag Path

THE ZIGZAG PATH

We climbed the height by the zigzag path
And wondered why -- until
We understood it was made zigzag
To break the force of the hill.

A road straight up would prove too steep
For the traveler's feet to tread;
The thought was kind in its wise design
Of a zigzag path instead.

It is so often in our daily life;
We fail to understand
That the twisting  way our feet must tread
By love alone was planned.

Then murmur not at the winding way,
It is our Father's will
To lead us Home by the zigzag path,
To break the force of the hill.

But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Job 23:10

Sometimes we cannot understand our path through life,
but God knows best and
all we need to do is trust His wisdom
and follow His leading.

Jesus died over 2000 years ago.

Nobody has ever referred to HIM as the late Jesus,
Not even the heathens.
Nowhere in history.

Nowhere has HE ever been referred to in the past tense.

HE 'is' the Living God!

and

When Jesus died on the cross HE was thinking of you!

My first card was made with a set of dies
I won during the Season's Givings blog hop on Phoebeez's blog.
Her cards are beautiful and a great inspiration to me.

These will be linked to WAW.

CHANGES

I have been considering changing my blog.
Many of my entries have been too long.
I would like to share shorter bits
of inspiration in the future.

I will also be including some of the
greeting cards that I make for you to view.

Doing this will help me share more regularly
and hopefully be more interesting.

WAIT ON!

To talk with God,
No breath is lost...
Talk on!

To walk with God,
No strength is lost...
Walk on!

To wait on God,
No time is lost...
Wait on!

Here are my cards using this week's verse for the
