Trust

TRUST

Trust is just a little word with a big meaning.
While reading my devotional book a few days ago
I came across this article and wanted to share it with you.

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that,
if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
John 11:40

Jesus is saying, “You may not understand,
but if you believe, you will see.”

Abraham could not understand why God
asked him to sacrifice his promised son,
but he trusted God.

Jacob could not understand why
his beloved son was taken away from him,
but he trusted God.

Joseph could not understand being sold
into Egypt by his brothers
and  spending time in prison
because he was falsely accused,
but he trusted God.

And friend, you may not understand why
the things in your life are happening to you,
why good things seem to go wrong and
cherished things taken away,
but keep on trusting God.

And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

If we could push ajar the gates of life,
And stand within, and all God’s working see,
We might interpret all this doubt and strife,
And for each mystery could find a key.

But not today.  Then be content, poor heart;
God’s plans, like lilies pure and white, unfold,
We must not tear the close-shut leaves apart –
Time will reveal the calyxes of gold.

And if, through patient toil, we reach the land
Where tired feet, with sandals loosed, may rest,
When we shall know and understand,
I think that we shall say, ‘God knew best’”

  3. Merry Christmas, dear Mehrll!
This was such an encouraging post with much to ponder on in the goodness of our Great God who loves us so, so much.
I am finding that my Lord has plans for me that I would have never thought would come my way, and He's just tugging at my heart to sit...relax..and rest by the still waters near to His presence. Many times I find myself fighting and wanting to go go go, but He ever so tenderly and gently holds me down. Such love!
His ways are perfect, no matter what is going on in our lives. May we always rest patiently in the arms of our Jesus.
Thank you for sharing your devotion with us that we too may be encouraged.

As we near Christmasi think of you and thank God for you.
May He continue to use you as His vessel through your blog as you continue to faithfully serve Him.

    Much love~~ Debbie
