Wit’s End Corner

I have been on my journey through Bronchitis Land and all the exciting side roads there.
The wonderful thing about the journey is that the Lord waked beside me all the way.

Hopefully, I can now get back to posting regularly
and sharing the lessons I have learned along the way

This poem is one I read many years ago and I hope it will be a
source of comfort and blessing to some of you who are too going
through some of life’s problems.

Wit’s End Corner

Are you standing at “Wit’s End Corner,”
Christian, with troubled brow?
Are you thinking of what is before you,
And all you are bearing now?
Does all the world seem against you,
And you in the battle alone?
Remember – at “Wit’s End Corner”
Is just where God’s power is shown.

Are you standing at “Wit’s End Corner,”
Blinded with wearying pain,
Feeling you cannot endure it,
You cannot bear the strain,
Bruised through the constant suffering,
Dizzy, and dazed, and numb?
Remember – at “Wit’s End Corner”
Is where Jesus loves to come.

Are you standing at “Wit’s End Corner”?
Your work before you spread,
All lying begun, unfinished,
And pressing on heart and head,
Longing for strength to do it,
Stretching out trembling hands?
Remember – at “Wit’s End Corner”
The Burden-bearer stands.

Are you standing at “Wit’s End Corner”?
Then you’re just in the very spot
To learn the wondrous resources
Of Him who faileth not:
No doubt to a brighter pathway
Your footsteps will soon be moved,
But only at “Wit’s End Corner”
Is the “God who is able” proved.

They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths:
their soul is melted because of trouble.
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man,
and are at their wits' end.
Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble,
and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
Psalm 107:26-28

I have made a couple cards to post:

Have a wonderful week in the Lord!!

  1. Sorry to hear that you have been under the weather with that nasty bronchitis, oh that can hang on forever. My husband always gets it in His chest should be become ill. His mother said he has had that problem since he was very young. Working with saw dust doesn't help, but He does wear a very good mask.
May the Lord touch you with His tender and healing hand.
I love your green card that you created, wow, it was stunning, really popped.
Thank you for that beautiful poem, so very true in that God is in that corner ready to meet us in our time of need.
So nice to visit with you, dear friend.

    Love and hugs, Debbie

  5. Ahhhh dear sweet Mehrll, I love this poem too, and it has oft cheered my heart as have the verses, I love how Gids precious word uses something we would call colloquial slang like being at our wits end. God gets it totally.
Glad He has walked with you all the way though the lonely painful path of Bonchitis. Truly at such times He knows the fraility of our frame...that we are but dust. Love you sis.
Thanks so much for the inspiration,

    1. What would we do without God's Word. I love to read it and absorb what He is telling us. He really cares for us. I am feeling much better thanks to the prayers of my many internet and local friends. Glad you had a good trip and great visits. Hugs.
