GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE
The world is going through troubling times
and we face an uncertainties every day.
The devil comes to Christians in a time like this
and whispers things that cause fear.
He wants us to forget how big our God is.
He tells us that God doesn't really care.
He says that our world is going to collapse.
He doesn't tell us that God is still in charge.
Recently my mind has been going back
to some of the older hymns.
One that we used to sing
when I was young (a loong time ago) was
GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE.
It reminds us that as Christians
we serve the ruler of heaven and earth.
Nothing touches us without His consent.
He IS still on the throne and
rules with a heart of love and mercy.

DeleteWhat a beautiful post both in content and design! I haven't heard of this hymn before, I will look it up. You are right about a chance for doubt and fear, sometimes the smallest thing, like a chance remark can throw us off balance and cause us momentary fear. We need to take it to Jesus asap. God is in control, He is all knowing, all love and all merciful. Praise be His name!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that we have a personal Saviour that hears us when we call on Him and that He is still in control even though it does not appear that way to us. He never fails us when we put our trust in Him. You are a blessing to me. I know that at times you are overwhelmed by all the things you have to handle. Just know that I am praying for you and God hears and is there with you even when it seems that you are all alone. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing this post was to me! I have never heard this hymn before - I have heard another version of "He is Still on the Throne", but it is quite different from this one. I looked this one up on HymnTime to learn the melody. I think this will be a new favorite of mine.
