COULD THEY BUT KNOW

I sometimes think that God must surely smile,
While looking on His world so tenderly;
And whisper softly to His angels there:
“Could they but see."

His fretted world perplexed and worn and sad,
Distrustful of His watching thought the while;
Unmindful of the strength of love which shines
Behind God’s smile –

The kindest smile a weary world could know –
A smile that pities, loves, forgives and plans;
That knows earth’s strivings, failings, hopes and fears,
And understands.

Could they but see how near His angels are,
And know the grandeur of the ways they tread,
Or glimpse the land of happiness untold
Which lies ahead.

I sometimes think that God must surely smile,

When looking on His troubled world below,
And whisper softly, tenderly, His thought:
“Could they but know.”

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1 Corinthians 13:12

A couple more cards I made.
The photos aren't too good, but you can get the general idea.

  1. Hi there, Mehril! I love your sweet cards. Each one is beautiful and so creative. I can tell you enjoy making them, and I'm sure blessed to have you link them with us. I did want to mention, however, that you're doing something or another wrong when linking. When I click on the pictures of your cards on Word Art Wednesday (where they're linked), it should take me right here to your blog, but it does not. It gives me an error message. If you have any questions about the steps, I'm more than happy to run it by you. I can email you or we can chat on the phone, but I'm always here to help. I'm glad I knew who you are and recognized your blog name so that I could still come by to say hello, but others who click on it won't find your blog. Let me know if I can help.

    Also, I'd love to have you stop by my blog and say hello when you are able. I love visits too!
    Hugs,
    Karen

  2. Hi sis, a lovely poem, so eminds me of how limited our sight is, we simply don't see as the Lord does. One day we will though and what a blessed hope it is indeed... it will be worth it all when we see Jesus.
    Sending hugs and prayers, Shaz in Oz.x
